New Web Mail Security!! Yukon Telephone's web mail is now more secure! When logging into your email online you will now notice that you are logging into a secured site. We have incorporated SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Technology, this is a protocol used by many sites to keep personal information safe; such as credit card numbers, drivers licenses, social security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, bank accounts, email, etc. As a result of SSL you will now have to choose to trust our websites Security Certificate. As a secured site we now have a certificate of security that lets our users know that it is really us and not a dummy website used to steal customers personal information. By viewing our certificate you can see that the name on the certificate belongs to us. If you were to view the certificate and the name said something like Test Co., Inc. you would know that is not really our site and you should not continue on. By viewing our certificate you can be sure that you are on our web site and your personal information is safe. Once you have viewed our certificate you can choose to trust it from now on and this will eliminate the certificate warning box or page that you see when logging into your email. You can choose to trust our website by clicking on the View Certificate button of the Certificate Information Box. You will be able to see our certificate and if you click on the Install Certificate Button it will walk you through the process of trusting our website. If you are using IE7-Vista please click on the link below for information on secured websites and how to trust them.
Email Troubleshooting If you are having difficulty with your E-mail Account, please perform the following steps. Please try accessing your e-mail account through Web mail before calling Customer Service. If you can access your account through our Web mail service, your account is considered to be working. If you can not access your email through the Web mail service please call our customer service at 907.478.2556. If you are using a mail client such as Outlook or Outlook Express, please check your settings to make sure they are correct. Use the following information to set up your Mail Client. Remember anywhere it asks you for your username you need to type your entire email address. E-Mail address = yourname@yukontel.com (yourname =
the username you requested) Click on the link below to find step by step instructions on how your Mail Client may be set up.
If you are using our internet but do not use a yukontel.com or yukontel.net email address you may still need to use our outgoing mail server in your mail client setup. You will need a yukontel email address to setup authentication. Please call the Wasilla Office to get an email address setup. Use your links above to setup your specific mail client.
If Yukon Telephone hosts your domain you will need to replace the incoming and outgoing mail server names in the instructions above with the mail servers specific to your domain. Instead of pop.yukontel.com you will use pop.yourdomain for example if your domain name is testdomain.net your incoming mail server would be: pop.testdomain.net.
If you travel outside of Yukon Telephone's Internet Service Areas you may have to change your outgoing mail server in your mail client settings. The new outgoing mail server will depend on who's internet service you are using. Try looking on their website to find this information.
